Pastoral Care

If I, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. I have given you a model to follow.   John 13:14

Prayer Shawls

A prayer shawl brings comfort to the sick and those who are grieving; it brings hope to those in despair.  It is created with care, love and prayer by a group of parishioners of all ages and talents.

Finished prayer shawls are brought to the monthly meeting and group members pray a special blessing over them.  The prayer shawl ministry will gladly make and give this expression of caring to you.

If you know anyone who would like to receive a prayer shawl or if you would like to share your time and talent in making prayer shawls, contact the pastoral minister.

Wrapped in Prayer

The Prayer Shawl Ministry invites all those who knit and/or crochet to join us in making a prayer shawl by October 9 for the ministry. You may drop off the finished shawl with a note that it is for “Wrapped in Prayer” at the church or you can bring the shawl to a Special Blessing which will be held at all Masses the weekend of October 11 & 12, 2014 for the shawls.
The shawl may be any pattern and yarn you would like to use. The size of the shawl should be between 18-24 inches wide and 60-70 inches long. All that is required from you while you are making the shawl is that you begin with prayers for the person who will receive the completed shawl and continue throughout the creation of the shawl.
You are welcome to join us at our monthly meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in Room 115.
