The Future City Competition is a competition put on by Success Beyond the Classroom and over 600 students in schools across Minnesota compete each year. Their challenge is to design and build a city of the future using SimCity computer software. They are also required to write a research essay and abstract, create a scale model and do a verbal presentation.
The team works from September to January when they present their final project during the state competition at the University of St. Thomas.
