The Running Club is a new program for St. Hubert School brought to you by the Wellness Committee! The Running Club is a self-paced program. Anyone, no matter how fast or slow, can enjoy the benefits of a running program: the challenge, the improved fitness, and friendship. This club is for all students in Grades K-8 who want to learn the benefits of a regular fitness program and the benefits of running. The students do not have to want to compete or be the fastest runners in the school to be in this program.
They just need the desire to learn about fitness.
The Fit for Fun Running Club will run Thursdays for 6 weeks (excluding the week of Spring Break) beginning Thursday, March 13, 2008 and concluding April 24, 2008. The goal of the program is to introduce and teach students about running and its benefits. Students will run in their Physical Education classes at school and training sessions will be held after school on Thursdays. The students will be encouraged to set goals for themselves. This goal should be discussed with their parents. For more information, contact Denise Garcia Heise at denise.garcia@sthubert.org or 952-934-6003 x309.
