The SACC program was started in 1995 to meet the childcare needs of the families whose children attend St. Hubert School. The program is available both before and after school hours and the Kindergarten Plus Program is an enhancement program for Kindergarten students.
Each section of the SACC program is different from the others. The early morning program, which is staffed from 6:45 until school begins, is designed to meet the needs of parents who have to be at work before the beginning of the school day. The children attending the morning session are of mixed ages, usually Kindergarten through grade 5. This program is somewhat low key and the activities involve free play, games, books, puzzles, and prayer. Breakfast is provided for the children from 7:45 until 8:15. The children are dismissed and walked to their classrooms or gathered for the Kindergarten program at the beginning of the regular school day.

The Kindergarten Plus is a half day Kindergarten enhancement program in addition to the St. Hubert School traditional half day Kindergarten. The SACC Kindergarten Plus Program consists of monthly thematic activities, curriculum enrichment, as well as time with fine arts specialists. Students will eat lunch at school, participate in lunchtime recess, and share in other school-wide activities such as weekly Mass. The activities for this program are more structured and help develop social skills and reinforce the Kindergarten philosophy of St. Hubert School. The activities include such subjects as story time, arts and crafts, free choice play, outside play, computer, music, and religion. After lunch and a resting time, students attending afternoon Kindergarten will be walked to their classroom and those attending the Kindergarten Plus afternoon program will begin their activities.
The after school program, which is staffed from the end of the school day until 6:00 P.M. is very similar to the morning program. The children in this program are again of mixed ages. The session begins with prayer and an after school snack. After snack, time is allotted for students to begin their homework. Students in this program usually go outside (weather permitting) to burn off some of that extra energy. There are also planned activities and free play time.
The SACC Program is also operated during most scheduled non-school days. Special activities and local field trips are planned for these days. The school also operates a summer program, which children may begin the summer before they enter Kindergarten.
The SACC room has been specially designed for childcare use. If you need childcare and are interested in the SACC Program, or would just like more information, please contact the school president, Mary Roles (934-6003 ext. 320) or myself, Callie Goehring (952-374-5069). We would be happy to answer any questions you may have and would love to have your child be a part of this program.
