Responding to the Needs of God's People
St. Hubert has a variety of ways to help respond to the needs of God's people. Many individual parish families also generously respond to these needs through various resources in addition to the opportunities listed below.
Feed My Starving Children supplies packaged nutritionally rich meals all over the world. Volunteers manually assemble the meals. Many groups from St. Hubert have taken part in this activity. See the sign-up board for parish packing dates and times or go to their website to sign up your own group. Many families celebrate birthdays of children and adults by signing up a group to help pack meals. Some engaged couples have invited their wedding party to help pack meals. Some local employers have invited their staff to do this as a company and many, many schools bring classrooms of children to help pack meals. The Chanhassen site is less than a mile away from St. Hubert. Go to www.fmsc.org to sign up or for more information.
Families Moving Forward Southwest
This interfaith homeless network houses and serves homeless families in Carver and Scott Counties. St. Hubert is part of this network. St. Hubert hosts four families each year, one week at a time. See the sign-up board to volunteer to help. The families sleep at St. Hubert from Sunday to Sunday during these weeks. We need volunteers to bring in dinner each evening, help provide some recreation for the children and provide a welcoming environment for them. During the day the adults go to work or to the day center in Prior Lake to help find work, and the children go to school. Families Moving Forward also needs volunteer help at their day center at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Prior Lake.
This organization prepares and serves dinner Monday through Friday across a number of location in the Twin Cities to feed the hungry. St. Hubert supports Loaves and Fishes at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Shakopee on the second Monday of every other month (odd months) and River of Life Lutheran Church in North Minneapolis on the second Friday of every other month (even months). See the sign-up board to volunteer to help. We have been preparing and serving meals at Loaves and Fishes for over 30 years.
Love INC is an ecumenical coalition of 25 churches in Carver County working together to serve those among us who need help. St. Hubert is a founding member. Many of the member churches support a GAP ministry. St. Hubert supports the Birthday Closet, Baby Ride, and Care Gap Ministries, special collections during Advent and Lent, the backpack program, and many other individual requests from the staff at Love INC. See the Love INC board in the hallway for more information and a list of monthly needs.

The Furnishare ministry is a ministry of Love INC that is supported by many individuals and churches. Furnishare matches donations of decent furniture with our neighbors who need them. Donations can be dropped off Saturdays from 9 AM to Noon at 2977 Water Tower Place in Chanhassen.
This center of God's love was founded and directed by Mary Jo Copeland. We prepare and serve lunch there quarterly. See the schedule and sign up on the bulletin board in the hallway by the fellowship hall.
People Reaching Out to People serves Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents in need of help. St. Hubert is a founding member. We collect non-perishable food items once per month and when school is in session, we collect weekly at the school Mass. PROP manages a food shelf and a thrift store and provides counselors to help people in need.
We are an exciting retail experience serving the southwest suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Stop by and explore - we think you'll find it the best place around to find great bargains and treasures.
Meals on Wheels in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area meets a vital need for more than 6800 seniors and people with disabilities by providing regular nourishment, social connection, connecting recipients to other home-based services, and providing peace of mind to clients, caregivers and families. St. Hubert has been providing funding and driver support for over 20 years.
St. Hubert Outreach
In addition to the support listed above, we provide monthly financial support for Love INC and Families Moving Forward Southwest. We also provide direct support for St. Hubert parishioners in need. This ranges from help with rent/utilities, medication expenses, food and gas cards and Christmas gift support.

Each Advent, the Charity and Justice Commission identifies special needs around Christmas. Paper ornaments are then made with the items needed and placed on the Christmas trees in the narthex.
Lent/Easter Eggs of Hope Tree
As in Advent, this Lenten tree identifies special needs. Paper eggs are made with items needed and placed on the Eggs of Hope Tree in the narthex.
